The argan tree of life :

Nicknamed the "tree of life", the argan tree (Argania spinosa) is a thorny tree that grows exclusively in the south-west of Morocco, the plains of the Souss, and 21 million trees covering almost 800,000 hectares.

The fruit is an oval bay, the size and shape of a large olive, containing a nut which is located in one or two kernels, called amandons. A tree can produce up to 8 kg of fruit per year or an average total of 128 000 tonnes per year for the whole of the Moroccan argan tree.
